You know those defining moments of toddler life - the moments that make you think, "What, Huh, Umm, when the hell did my child get so big?" Yeah, well, Chase has given us several of those moments recently. And I'm reminded all too often that there are no more babies in the house!
After several times of Chase trying to go "night-night" in Braedyn's bed, we decided that maybe it was time for us to transform Chase's crib into a toddler bed. With Braedyn, we transitioned him too early and paid the consequences, but we had no choice as we needed the crib for Chase. So this time around, I swore that Chase would be in that crib until he learned to climb out. But, I guess at some point, you just have to accept the fact that it's time for your little one to grow up.
So one week ago, we made the leap from crib to toddler bed. And I have to say, I am quite pleased with the transition. The first night, he wasn't a fan of his new bed at all, and gave his best effort of screaming and crying when it was time for bedtime. But after the 3-minute pouting session, he was fast asleep in his bed.
And on the peak of his second birthday, Chase has mastered the art of drinking from a big boy cup. He basically taught himself, and does it quite well. He is also getting really good at drinking bottled water. Now, if only he would master the ability of not leaving tiny food chunks in mommy's bottled water, and we'll all be happy campers!
After much procrastination, I finally broke down and gave both boys a much needed haircut. Don't get me wrong, I like to have their hair short and trimmed, but if you knew the hassle it was to cut their hair, you'd put this chore off as long as possible too. So after suffering through their haircuts, Chase was sitting on the couch ready to have his picture taken. I told Braedyn, "Go sit next to Chase so I can get a picture of your new haircuts". And this is how well Braedyn listens...
And now for the Picture of the Week... Chase has shown an increased interest in all-things-potty since Braedyn has become potty trained. He likes to sit on the toilet, he likes to flush the toilet, he likes to grab way too much toilet paper, and he likes to, umm, well, see for yourself...
Yep, that's right, he likes to intently watch the "water flow" process. As soon as Braedyn starts to pee, Chase gets all excited and says, "Whoa, Wa-Wa (water), Whoa". Can you see Braedyn's face... and his, "Dude, can I get a little privacy please" expression. Oh my, does it get any better than this?

Oh my...that last picture has me cracking up! LMAO, seriously. But on the bright side you may have Chase potty trained before you know it!
I can't believe how big they both are...it happens in a blink of an eye. Unless they are colic and then it takes to darn long, right?
