What's That? Why?

Chase has officially reached the "What's That?" stage, and Braedyn is very deep into the "Why?" stage. I think the only thing more annoying than the Why Stage is the What's That Stage. When our family was down from NJ recently, my 2 1/2 year old niece was in the "What's That" stage. It was comical... you know, because I wasn't the mommy or daddy having to respond to that question a gazillion times a day. But now that Chase has reached that stage... yeah, umm, not so comical any more.

Initially, I embraced Braedyn's Why Stage.

Until Day 5.

At that point, I was completely over it. Then a funny thing happened... I turned into my mother and responded with "Because I Said So". Now I know all too well why I frequently heard that line as a child.

Getting a picture of "Why" and "What's That" together used to be nearly impossible, but now, it's a regular occurrence as they often play together. They are at a wonderful age that is so enjoyable to watch.

Disney on Ice: Toy Story 3 came to Orlando recently. Guess who had 2nd row floor seats... this little guy.

If you're familiar with Toy Story, then you know that Zurg is the bad guy in TS2. Zurg made a live appearance during Disney on Ice. Braedyn was in awe, as he has always been fascinated with Zurg. Zurg is an amazing creature, and blasts laser beams out of his arm (or something like that). But then Buzz Lightyear saves the day and Zurg is history. Braedyn talked about Zurg for days after seeing the show.

Fastforward one week... in the middle of the night, Braedyn starts to creep into mommy's room and climbs up on the bed because he's scared of the dark. After dealing with this for multiple nights, I tried to figure out what Braedyn was so scared of all of a sudden. He finally told me, "Mommy's room keeps me safe at night". Confused, I said, "What are you scared of, Braedyn." After a long, drawn out conversation with a 3 1/2 year old, I finally came to the conclusion that Braedyn is scared of a monster that comes at night when it's dark. He then tells me the name of the monster.

His name is Zurg.

To this day, Braedyn is still creeping into my room at night, crawling up into my bed to escape Zurg.

I hate Disney on Ice.

That's right, I said it... "I hate Disney on Ice."

My computer keyboard has turned into a piece of junk lately. It has decided to not type certain letters. I gave my best effort in proofreading this blog post, but just in case... my apologies for any errors. But you see, I can't lobby for a new keyboard, as I'm afraid it will be taken out of my "potential budget for my future iPad". Ben claims that I don't need an iPad. My only response to him was, "WHY?"

Hey, if it works for Braedyn, then it's going to work for me, too!!

Did Ben reply with "because I said so?"

Love that they now really play together and seem to enjoy it. So handsome!!
