So at my doctor appointment this week, my OB informed me that the pain in my ass is sciatic pain. And what can I do to make it go away? Oh, that's simple... just have the baby, then all the pain will go away. Hmmm... not quite the answer I was looking for, but somehow it was the answer I knew I'd receive. I could take Tylenol to help the pain, but let's face it - if you've been pregnant before, then you are fully aware that Tylenol has about zero impact. ::double sigh::
Earlier in the week, one of Braedyn's preschool teachers passed away suddenly. It was a very, very sad situation, and things have been kind of in disarray at his school this week as most of the people there had worked with his teacher for years. I found myself thinking that it was good Braedyn isn't old enough to realize that his teacher is gone and not coming back, because I'm not quite sure how you explain death to children. When I mentioned this thought of mine to Ben, he states without hesitation "we would just tell Braedyn that his teacher moved away". Isn't it amazing how women can put so much thought into pondering something, and for men, they can "solve the problem" in 60 seconds flat?!?
So anyway, Braedyn's school closed early today so they could all attend the funeral service for his teacher. So after picking up Braedyn early, we came home and played for a bit inside. Then I realized that he had about 4x the amount of energy that I had. So I did what any Mommy would do - I took him outside to wear him out. And just out of curiosity, is there a reason why my child wants to wander around in everyone's yard except his own? Here's a few pics I took when I wasn't trying to coerce him out of the neighbor's driveway.
This is Braedyn getting ready to water the plants. Which basically consisted of him picking up the empty water container, carrying it for about 1 minute, then found something else intriguing in the yard and quickly tossed the water container to the side. Gotta love the attention span of a toddler!
And after Braedyn finished refueling himself with his drink, he did what any normal person would do, and neatly placed his cup in the middle of the street. This is normal, right?
And after searching high and low for a nursery theme for our new baby, we finally found this great animal theme that we love:

We also decided to transition Braedyn to a toddler bed and use his nursery furniture for Baby #2. So if everyone would kindly start praying for us now, then maybe we'll have a *smooth* transition to the toddler bed when we take on that adventure. And seriously, am I the only one that thinks all these transitions and changes would be much easier to handle with a glass of wine or three or four?
The nursery bedding and Braedyn's toddler bed are on order, and will be here in 4-6 weeks (or so I'm told). The future nursery is still being used as a spare bedroom right now, although the only ones that sleep in there are Calvin and Hobbes. So it'll definitely be great once the bedding arrives so that we (read as: my MIL Judi) can start working on the nursery. And thank goodness Judi will be doing most of the work, because I can honestly say that if it wasn't for her, me and our new baby would probably be sleeping on the spare bed, with the room decorated exactly the way it is now.
