Now What Do I Do?

Silly me had the bright idea to start my Christmas shopping early this year, as opposed to get stuck in the holiday shopping rush. In previous years, I totally lived for Black Friday. I would scour the ads in detail on Thanksgiving Day (after stuffing myself with insane amounts of food). I'd map out my route for the next day, and couldn't wait to hurl myself in with the other hardcore holiday shoppers. Only the strong would survive that day, and trust me when I tell you that I always survived. I think I most loved Black Friday because to me, it meant that it was officially time to start decorating and getting ready for Christmas.

However, as we all know, having a couple kids tends to throw a wrench into even the best laid out shopping plan. Knowing that I most likely wouldn't be partaking in Black Friday this year, I decided to get a jump start on the Christmas shopping for the boys... so I made my lists and checked them twice (and three, four and five more times). If you know me, then you know that I research the heck out of everything, so this was quite a process. Once I was satisfied with my lists, I went over all the items with Ben. He would say "yes, that's a good choice" (and I'd pat myself on the back) or "no, I don't like that item" (and I would just roll my eyes and leave it on the list anyway). =)~

So after finalizing my lists, I started comparing prices and came to realize that Amazon had the best prices or were comparable to other stores. And with free shipping and no tax, it all seemed like a no-brainer to me. So I pointed my mouse and click-click-click... then presto, the order is on its way. Now comes the sad part... it's not even Thanksgiving yet, and I have completely finished Christmas shopping for the boys, as well as for Braedyn's birthday presents.

With that gigantic task out of the way, I decided I should start thinking of ideas for our holiday greeting card. I mean, it was going to take lots of thinking to outdo last year's fabulous card. So after racking my brain, I finally thought of something, ran it by Ben, and he gave me the thumbs up. So I started working on the next masterpiece to add to our annual greeting card collection (in case you can't tell, I'm quite proud of our family greeting cards, haha). So I created the card, pointed my mouse and click-click-click... then presto, the order is on its way.

So today, I just looked at the calendar and realized that it's only November 20th. ::gasp:: What the heck am I supposed to do for the next month while I wait for Christmas to get here?!? If I don't come up with more things to shop for, I think I might start to lose my self-worth. I mean, I can't help but feel like I'm letting the mall shops down by not visiting them during December. But even moreso, during all my shopping trips, I always found a way to squeeze in a visit to Chick-fil-a. How is Chick-fil-a going to survive without me as a customer in December? I mean, seriously... who else is going to order that many "#1 Combo with no pickle and a sweet tea"? Is it just me, or is this starting to turn into a nightmare?

You've got me cracking up! I have always finished my shopping and cards by Thanksgiving day. It's an illness...I just want to be able to yell done while everyone scurries around in horror. I decorate the end of November and into December and then sit back and relax. What does spaz me out? Wrapping..I hate it with a vengeance!

OMGosh! I order the same thing at CFA!

I've never shopped on Black Friday. Ever.
Now I have been to the mall on that day... but to go to work, not to shop. I remember one year we needed change and it took me over an hour to drive to the bank and back because of the traffic. And the bank was located in the shopping mall complex... normally it would have taken me less than 5 minutes to drive there! It was CUH-RAZY!!! So I've stayed away.

But this year... the outlet stores down in Calhoun GA are opening at midnight on Black Friday! Me, my mom, sis and sis-in-law are going! We're going to take a little nap after stuffing ourselves with yummy food then leave around 11 to make it down there by 12!

Well...I could add quite a bit of stuff to your list if you are looking for something to do! Since I just caught up on your blog since Halloween and havent written in my own for over a month, needless to say I havent even thought of Christmas shoppping...I could think of a few things! I cant wait until you go back to work. I want to see how well it works out for you! lol!!! To much to do and to little time! Glad to see that things are well with you guys and Chase is adjusting to preschool. I am hoping that by having an extra day off work this weekend, I can catch up the whole month of October and November on our blog! lol! Tim has to work Thanksgiving day, yuck, so we are doing ours on Friday...which means Black Friday shopping wont happen for me either. Take care!

Hey, don't worry.....if you are getting sick then you will be glad you have that holiday shopping done, lol. I got Braedyn's birthday gift. I also picked one up for Montana for an xmas gift since it looked like something he would like also.
