What's the Definition of Sick?

(raising hand eagerly) I know, I know... that would be defined as Braedyn getting a snotty nose mid-morning, a low-grade fever by mid-afternoon, crankier and crankier as the day goes on, only to be topped off with projectile vomiting all over the car while driving home from Grammy's house. Yep, I think that pretty much sums it up. These are good times...

This past week, we started Chase part-time in daycare (further referred to as "preschool", as that word makes me feel less guilty for being a working mom) so that he can get acclimated to the environment before I go back to work. Of course, my first kid-free day last week was spent with me agonizing over whether Chase was sleeping okay, eating okay, and just overall doing okay while being away from Mommy. I tried to nap and catch up on some much needed sleep... but that wasn't possible. I had too much anxiety, and wasn't able to relax enough to take a nap. So I did what any normal person would do... I went shopping. Sadly enough though, I only came home with the necessities - diapers, wipes, & food, along with a huge Target bill to show for it.

I was told that Chase cried alot his first day and was very off-schedule, which really wasn't a surprise - it's quite a lot to take in at first. The second day went much smoother, he ate and napped well throughout the day. However, after Day 2 of preschool, he was already coughing and a tad bit congested in the evening. Sheeez... those preschool germs don't waste any time, do they?!? Thankfully, he fought through it and managed to escape a full-blown sickness. But now that I think about it, I'm wondering if he passed on these baby germs to Braedyn. Hmmm...

So tomorrow, Little Chasey will brave the preschool world for another day, and Braedyn will be home getting lots and lots of TLC from Mommy, and slowly recovering from what I hope to be just a 24-hour bug. Nothing tugs at the heart strings like seeing your little child sick and helpless. ::sigh::

P.S. Sorry, but no picture for this post. I was sure that my "Mother of the Year" award would've been down the toilet if I busted out my camera after Braedyn's vomitfest in the car.

If it was nasty enough... I might have snapped a photo.. I'm pretty bad like that...

Just think, Chase will have been exposed to so much germy goodness that by the time he's in first grade he'll never get sick! Graham hardle ever gets bad colds anymore... but he'll bring crap home and give it to Dottie...

You're right, nothing makes you feel worse than a sick kid. I am really starting to dread the day when Katie goes to school...

The first dew days of preschool will be tough... but I think its a good idea you're easing into it. I didn't do that, but wish I had!

Oh admit it, you ran through the house with reckless abandon screaming you were FREE! ;-P
