Chase's 1st Birthday Party

Normally at this point in your child's life, one would say, "wow, I can't believe it's been a year already, the time flew by". But with Chase's everlasting screaming and difficult sleep patterns for most of his first year, I have to honestly say, "yup, it feels like it's been a whole year". =)~ Seriously though, it is nice to get to this point, but bittersweet at the same time. Chase is starting to look like a toddler, and once he starts walking on his own, my heart will slightly melt as the baby stage will be all but gone.

Before we get to the pictures, just a quick "thank you" to my friend, Joy, who continues to be my personal photographer at all these important events. I couldn't have these wonderful picture memories without your help! Now, on with the fabulous birthday pictures...

We went with a Winnie-the-Pooh theme birthday cupcake-cake, complete with the very yummy buttercream icing. It was created by Publix, and turned out fabulous as always. And no, Chase isn't really into Winnie-the-Pooh, but I couldn't find a cake with a baby screaming on it, so this was the next best thing. haha.

Since I'm usually behind the camera taking the pictures, this is a rare snapshot of Mommy and the Birthday Boy!

Although Chase LOVED the icing, he was hesitant to dig in. So I had to give him a little help. He seemed to enjoy it quite a bit, as you can see below...

And speaking of thoroughly enjoying the cake, here is Braedyn eating his cupcake, with no hands...

Trust me when I tell you that we did not raise him to eat like this, I have no idea what got into him. And less than 30 minutes after devouring his cupcake, he was bouncing off the walls and running laps around the house!

Here is Chase opening his gifts. I think he was still sort of wondering what the heck is going on, but I do have to say, he was such a good boy throughout his whole party.

Chase being cute and flashing his pearly whites... all four of them.

Just a really nice candid shot of Chasey while we were opening his presents.

This is Chase trying out his new Radio Flyer Turtle Ride-On. Is it just me, or does his face kind of resemble that turtle? =) He loves to ride on this thing, but he can't quite push himself along yet. But he seriously needs to figure that out quickly because I already have sore knees from crawling behind him and pushing him on this.

Thank you to all our wonderful friends and family that took the time to come out and give Chase lots of birthday wishes. It was so great to see everyone, and Chase loves all of his presents!
