Good news... everyone has been healthy and happy this week. Granted, Braedyn, Chase and myself were all on antibiotics, but hey, whatever it takes, right?!?
While Chase still doesn't say many words, he definitely shows us tons of expression through his emotions and actions. For example, when he hears the word cookie, he gets the biggest grin and starts pumping his legs or arms back and forth. This past weekend, I got the box of cookies down to put some in a bowl for him. I usually break them up in smaller, more manageable pieces for him.
After putting the cookies in the bowl and before I had a chance to put the cookie bin back where it goes, I had to help Braedyn with something. So I go take care of Braedyn and when I come back one minute later, this is what I see.
Take notice to how many more cookies he added to his bowl. Not to mention the fact that he shoved as many cookies as he could into his little mouth! I mean, seriously, this kid is no fool. It's one of those mom-moments when you're like, "umm, I totally should make him understand that he is not allowed to just take as many cookies as he wants". Yet, instead, I reach for the camera and snap away.
I have the feeling that Chase's cuteness factor and those adorable chubby cheeks are going to get him out of numerous time-out sessions in the future!
Given Braedyn's fascination for choo-choo trains, we considered investing in a train table. After much thought on this subject, we opted for a rug with train tracks and roads since it saves us a lot of space that we currently don't have to spare. As you can tell in the above pictures, Chase has one end of the rug that Braedyn "allows" him to use. And with the rest of the rug, Braedyn uses it to push his trains on.
We have since moved his Thomas the Train track onto the rug, which means less rug-room for Chase. Not that it matters, Chase just has fun inching closer towards Braedyn's side of the rug until Braedyn yells out, "No Chase, go to mommy" - at which point Chase just walks away and starts laughing. In fact, Braedyn has gotten to the point where he will actually take Chase's hand and walk him to me. Gotta love this brotherly love!!

Good call on the train track rug! And I have to agree, those cheeks and smile will get Chase out of a lot of trouble!
