I've been so busy this week at work... I know, I know, what a shocker. But I figured, heck, it's only one week out of the whole year, so I guess I'll suck it up and work the extra hours. And thankfully, tomorrow is the end of my "crunch-time" at work. I've had a lot to blog about, but just no time to do it, so brace yourself because there's ALOT coming your way!
As promised, here are the County Fair pictures... nearly 2 weeks later. This is the weekend when Chase was a bit under the weather, so Braedyn was the only active kid at the fair. This is the first year that Braedyn is actually big enough to go on the rides at the fair. I'm not sure if I'm happy about that... you know, since the fair rides look like they could very well fall apart at any given time!
Now I know it's extremely difficult to tell by looking at him, but trust me when I tell you that this look is the look of utter excitement! Hard to believe, huh? But seriously, Braedyn loved that he was "riding a motorcycle". This was his second favorite ride, second only to...
... the choo-choo train ride. Again, notice the "utter excitement" on his face. We've given up on trying to get this child to smile in photos, Chase is our only hope now! So after riding the kid rides for what seemed like an eternity, we stumbled across another favorite site of Braedyn's.
The tractor yard... or whatever you call the grassy area where they display all the tractors. He demanded to sit on several of them and made "vroom vroom" sounds. I'm pretty sure he dreams about tractors at least once a week (and choo-choo trains the other 6 days).
Although Braedyn LOVES to see animals, he prefers to see them from a safe distance. So he wasn't really a fan of seeing the animals this close up. And who can blame him... notice the sign on the gate. And about that sign, I'm a tad bit confused - I mean, either the animal bites, or it doesn't bite. What's with this "may bite" nonsense?!?
And just when we thought we hit all the hot spots, we stumbled upon this prize winning display on the way out.
Oh my, he was in complete awe of this massive train display. Almost makes me want to get one to go around the Christmas tree. I said "almost"... I'm not quite that crazy yet!
Since my Christmas shopping day was nixed last week due to a sick little one, I had no choice but to revert to online shopping. I was a bit disappointed since I thought it'd be so much fun to browse the stores for Christmas gifts this year. But I do have to admit, my online holiday shopping has been so stress free and convenient! I am 85% done with ALL my Christmas shopping, 100% done shopping for Braedyn's birthday gifts, and have already received over half of the gifts in the mail. Seriously, it just doesn't get any easier than this.
With the extra days I was home last week while Chase was sick, I was also able to create the fabulous (self-proclaimed) 2009 Wormeck Family Christmas Card. And that masterpiece just arrived in the mail yesterday. I'm pretty proud of our card this year, but then again, I'm proud of our card every year. =)~ Is there some sort of Christmas Card Hall of Fame or something like that. Because if so, I'm thinking I am so totally worthy of that!
Conversation at the dinner table earlier this week...
Ben: Did you have a fun day at school today?
Braedyn: Yes
Ben: Did you learn alot of things today?
Braedyn: Yes
Ben: What did you learn?
Braedyn: Ummm... (silence)
Ben: Do you remember what you learned today?
Braedyn: Ummm... (more silence)
Ben: What did you play with at school today?
Braedyn: I played on the swing and slide, and I played with the choo choo train, and I played outside, and I played with...
I mean, seriously, who has time for learning when there are swings and slides and trains to play with!
