Little Chicken vs. Big Bird

Braedyn has developed this love for Big Bird. Actually, to be honest, I think he is more fascinated with the color yellow, but who can really tell. So, Ben and I decide to go hunt down a Big Bird stuffed animal for Braedyn. We headed to Tuesday Morning (you know, because nothing's too good for our little tyke) and we found this $1 bargain priced little yellow chicken. We aptly named him Big Bird, because surely Braedyn wouldn't know the difference, right?

* Enter Grammy Wormeck * Grammy comes over to babysit yesterday, and what present did she bring for Braedyn - none other than Big Bird himself. This was no dollar store version, it was the real deal! I thought to myself, "ahh, he still won't know the difference between the $1 Little Chicken and the real Big Bird," which I'm guessing cost a good $15 - $20.

Well, it took me less than 24 hours to remember why I never shopped at dollar stores before. I'll go ahead and let the pictures tell the story...
Here we have Braedyn holding on very tightly to his Big Bird. In fact, he's gripping it so tightly, it's almost as if he's afraid to let it go, for fear that he might get stuck with that cheap little chicken again.

And what do we have here? Is that Big Bird kissing Braedyn? Or better yet, is Braedyn freely giving out kisses to Big Bird? What the heck? I don't even get kisses like this!! And to make matters worse, it clearly appears that Braedyn is proudly posing for the camera in this picture!

And last but not least, what has happened to Little Chicken? Well, he's been thrown by the wayside. Stuffed into Braedyn's basket of toys. The most Little Chicken can hope for now is to get a spot in the "toy rotation" during playtime... but from the looks of the pictures above, his chances aren't looking so great.
