Playing Outside

We took Braedyn outside to play in the yard this weekend. I know what you're thinking... he's never been in the yard before? Well honestly, if he can't walk around on the grass, what else is he going to do out there. Trust me, he's not a fan of crawling on the grass. But now that he's the exceptional walker that he is, we figured it was about time for Little Boy to explore the grounds.

This is Ben trying to teach Braedyn how to pull weeds. And that's Braedyn having zero interest in what Daddy has to say about weeds.

Braedyn showing how proud he is to be walking around outside. He fell several times - you don't realize how bumpy and uneven the grass is until you attempt to walk on it from his level. And you don't realize that there are "hills" in the yard until you watch your child make an exhausting effort to get up the "hill".

Look at the height difference, Braedyn looks so tiny next to Ben in this picture.

Look at how intently Braedyn is concentrating on his walking. I'm telling you, the hills and uneven grass are absolute hell for a Little Boy!! I kept telling Ben to stand up straight, and he said "I can't, if I stand up straight then Braedyn won't be able to reach my hand." haha.

So we took him outside again today for a little bit before dinner... and now I see what the problem will be with going outside - he just really doesn't want to come back in, and he'll screech and holler to let us know that too! Nothing is just cut and dry with children, is it?!?

That's a good boy, not wanting to listen about the weeds! I'm the same way!
