It's been quite awhile since I've bragged about my Little Boy (like a whole 5 days or so), so I'll bless you with all my brags about Braedyn. I had planned to do this post with lots of video footage of stuff he's doing now, but that hasn't gone so well. Everytime we try to get film footage, Braedyn either chases the video camera, or becomes very, very still and just stares at us with this dumbfounded look on his face. So you'll have to settle for some pictures instead.
I added a section in the sidebar of my blog of stuff Braedyn is doing now. He can say 10 words on a pretty consistent basis. And he uses words like "thank you" and "uh oh" in the right context! He probably says more words than we realize, because there are some sounds that he repeats all the time. But it's kinda difficult to decipher a toddler's language. I'm trying to teach him to say "love you"... but so far it comes out sounding like "popcorn". =)~ So that one is still a work in progress.
I really love this stage that Braedyn is in because he is very impressionable and learns stuff rather quickly. He just recently started kicking his ball around the house. He pushes his little train and airplane around on the floor. And we just recently taught him how to put his shaped blocks into the shape openings. He used to have a problem figuring out how to get them to fit correctly in the shaped opening, but he has finally got the hang of it. Yippee!!
He also has recently discovered his nose. So, when toddlers discover new things, they are fascinated with it and explore the heck out of it. Which means, Braedyn is "picking" his nose all the time. His fingers go straight to his nostrils and he ummm, explores. So while he's fixated on that body part, we took the opportunity to teach him that he was touching his nose. I would say "Braedyn, where's your nose", and he would immediately reach up and touch... err, pick... his nose. It's the cutest thing ever. One day he did this 5 times in a row, and as soon as Ben turned on the camcorder, he just sat there and stared at us like we were morons. Seriously, what is that about?!?
He's also finally starting to outgrow the stage where he puts everything in his mouth, which is a blessing. (Especially considering his fingers are up his nose all the time, haha.) He now observes and discovers something mainly with his hands rather than putting it directly in his mouth. But the best part of Braedyn right now would have to be the wet, sloppy, open-mouth kisses he gives you on the cheek when you ask him for a kiss. It seriously will put the biggest grin on your face!!
