Happy Mother's Day

Several years ago I became fascinated with scrapbooking. Then about 2 years after that, it went by the wayside. When I was home on maternity leave with Braedyn, I got back into it again... nothing like a new baby to inspire your creative side. But then when I went back to work, it went by the wayside. (Anyone see a pattern here?) ::sigh::

But in all honesty, it is quite difficult to sit down and attempt to scrapbook with a little one running around. So for Christmas, Ben bought me a software package for photo editing and digital srapbooking. Since most of my free time is spent on the computer, I figured this new software would rejuvenate me to get back into scrapbook-mode. And I'm happy to say that 4 1/2 months later (hee!), Mother's Day has inspired me to finally create my very first digital layout.

I'm very inexperienced with the software, so I had to keep things pretty basic - and this layout still took me about 2 hours to create. Yikes! At this rate, I should have Braedyn's scrapbook of his first two years completed by time he starts college. But regardless, I'm very proud of my first digital layout (heck, someone's gotta pat me on the back, even if it's myself!). And hopefully, things will move along much faster next time around... but I doubt it.

Happy Mother's Day to all the proud mommies out there. And most of all, Happy Mother's Day to our moms - Judi & Nancy - who we love and appreciate immensely!!
