The Downhilll Stretch

Yup, that's right... only 7 1/2 weeks left until my scheduled c-section date. I can't believe the end is almost near. So, let's see... at this time during my first pregnancy, we had the nursery completely finished (and it had been finished for 2 whole months already), we had all baby supplies bought and put away, I was pushing the empty baby stroller around the house "for practice", and I had at least 8 belly progression pictures taken.

And how are things going this time around? Hmmm, I'd say things are the complete opposite. We just cleared out the spare room this weekend so we could get started on Baby Chase's nursery. We still have a list of baby essentials that we need to buy. And sadly enough, this picture below is the only belly pic I've taken during this pregnancy. This picture was at 30 weeks pregnant.

So, it's true... the second baby definitely gets shafted, huh? Well, I'm not sure that "shafted" is the right word. Maybe it's more that we already know what to expect and realize that there isn't an urgent need to have a fully furnished & decked out nursery 3 months in advance of Baby's arrival. Or maybe it's that I'm fully aware that my wonderful MIL Judi will save the day as always, and get the nursery whipped into shape before you know it. However, I have no good excuse for the lack of belly pictures this time around... except for pure laziness! But heck, with all my hobbies I'm trying to keep up with - reading, DVR, digital scrapbooking - who has time to plan for Baby #2?!?

I put a link on the sidebar to the digital scrapbooking pages I've been working on. I'm getting familiar with the software and LOVE it so much more than paper scrapbooking. The only thing that would excite me even more would be a new, faster computer that can handle this heavy-duty software. (That comment was made especially for you Ben, in case you didn't realize it!) Anyway, you can click on the "View All Images" link to look at the pages individually. Or you can just be lazy and watch them scroll up the screen. I only have about 7 or 8 done so far, but I'll add more as I get them finished. You never know, maybe I'll inspire someone to pick up this hobby as well.

And last but not least, I need to give a long overdue shout out to my dear friend Melisa S. in Georgia, who gave me lots of help (emphasis on "lots") with choosing a first and middle name for Braedyn's Little Brother, now known as Baby Chase! Without you, this baby would still be called "Baby #2". So thanks for enduring the hundreds of emails during this process - you're such a trooper!!

Mommy This and That said...

You are most welcome! Who knew choosing names could be such hard work! :P

The scrapbook pages look fantastic. What program are you using?
