Still Here... Barely

No, I have not gone into labor yet. I've got other issues to deal with and an ever-growing To Do List of things that need to be done before Baby Chase's arrival. But let's talk about my issues for a minute...

So here's the story... ever since transitioning Braedyn into his toddler bed, he's done fairly well with sleeping in his bed. That is, up until about 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure when or how it happened, but all of a sudden, he got in this habit of coming into our room in the middle of the night and wanting to sleep in our bed. And all it took was one night of being lazy and throwing him up in bed with us... and he's been there ever since.

So I talked to his pediatrician, she stated that at this point, Ben had to be the one to take him back to his room at night because apparently, since I was the one who *allegedly* invited him into our bed, he knows that I'll give in and let him sleep there again and again. So with less than 1 week before Baby Chase arrives, we are doing everything we can to fix this situation. Starting Saturday, every time Braedyn would get up at night, we'd take him back to his bed and put him back to sleep. You wanna know how many times this happened on Saturday... 8, as in EIGHT. ::sigh:: I think Ben stopped waking up after the third or fourth time. haha.

So last night was night #2. Good news is that Braedyn only woke up 4 times. Bad news is that Ben woke up zero times. (Anyone see a pattern forming here?) And I didn't bother to get Ben out of bed for help since Braedyn didn't fuss much when I took him out of our room. Of course, I was under the impression that with Ben lying right next to me, he woke up each time Braedyn came in the room. Fast forward to this morning... Ben, who's looking very well rested, says to me, "So Braedyn slept through the entire night, huh? I didn't hear him come in the room at all." As I tried to digest this comment, I'm pretty sure I felt a wave of contractions coming on. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry... instead, I just stood there shaking my head in disbelief!

So, wish me luck that Braedyn keeps waking up less and less at night... and gets back to his normal routine of sleeping peacefully through the night. And if not, well... I'll be in the hospital for a couple days soon, so I'll be thinking about ya Ben. Good luck with that situation!

My next posting on my blog probably won't be until after Baby Chase arrives. I'm definitely ready to meet this little guy. But on the flip side, also a bit sad that Braedyn will no longer have me all to himself. It'll be quite interesting to see how Braedyn does with Chase, as he is still too young to understand what is going on. So I'll leave you with a picture of my adorable Little Boy. I know what you're thinking... and yes, it's true. This innocent looking child is the same Little Boy causing so much trouble at night!! Don't let his cuteness factor fool you! =)~

Stay strong sista! Hopefully before Baby Chase comes he will be comfortably back in his own bed without anymore wake ups. It's hard but it will work. Just tell Ben not to get lazy while your in the hospital. ;) Give me a call when baby arrives. I'd love to pay you a visit. Maybe this time I'll be fortunate enough to actually make it to the hospital. LOL...
