Surviving the Florida Heat

If it didn't reach 100-degrees today, then it probably reached a high of 99-degrees. I know I live in Florida and all, but seriously, we have to be breaking records for this time of year. The minute you step outside, you're hit with a suffocating, smack-you-in-the-face heat wave. It's the most unpleasant month of June I can ever remember. But given my diminishing memory since I've had kids, I guess that really doesn't mean much.

So aside from venturing outside to the grocery store, we spent most of the weekend trying to cool off in the pool. And I use the words "cool off" very loosely since our pool reached a record high of 90-degrees today.

Braedyn had a lot of play time with Daddy, and loved every minute of it. He's starting to get really comfortable with putting some of his face in the water... which is a step up from him trying to drink the water.

We have a little float-boat for Chase to sit in while we're in the pool. However, since he sees his big brother splashing around with Daddy, he will now only tolerate his boat for about 5 minutes. He's like a fish in the water and is already trying to make his chubby, little legs kick up and down.

Here's the adorable face Chasey greets us with after he wakes up from a nap (or at the crack of dawn). Actually, he stands up in his crib and screams until we come in his room. It's only after we enter the room that he graces us with his 3.5 tooth grin. That's right... 3.5 teeth, that fourth tooth seems to be stuck at the halfway mark!

And here is a video of Chasy practicing his baby steps. The funniest thing to watch is all the different facial expressions he makes while he learns to take baby steps.

Happy Father's Day to Ben - thanks for being such a wonderful, hands-on daddy to our two little boys!
