Photo Shoot #0824

Since Braedyn currently refuses to have his picture taken, I've only got recent pictures of Chase. Well, there are some of Braedyn, but in all of those pictures he is sticking his hand out towards me saying "Stop it, Mommy, Stop it". Nice, huh? (Click on following pictures to enlarge.)

Chase has become a very, happy little guy. Ever since he outgrew all that screaming that he did for the first 11 months of his life, he has been full of smiles and giggles. He walks all over the place now, and is so proud of himself. In this picture, he's walking towards the couch, which can mean only one thing - he's going after Braedyn's prized choo-choo trains that have taken up permanent residency on the couch! Obviously Braedyn wasn't around, otherwise Chase would have never made it this close to the couch. =)

I call this picture, "The Look".  Judi and I always got a good laugh over this look... when the boys were babies, if they were unsure about you or were trying to figure out who you were, they would give you this beady-eyed look out of the corner of their eyes. So I'm sure Judi will appreciate and be humored by this picture more than the rest of you, but whatever... all you need to know is that Chase looks adorable no matter what face he's giving you!

I'm not trying to pimp out my child, but all I'm saying is that this picture of him seriously looks like it should be in GQ for Babies. Do they make such a magazine? Hmm... let me go google that, because if such a thing exists, he's definitely winning this month's toddler contest for "Bringing Sexy Back".

Over the weekend, Braedyn wanted to act like Chase and take a pretend nap in his crib. So we put him in the crib and he pushed the music button and eagerly laid down for his nap (if only it were this easy for his regular nap times). Braedyn squeezed his eyes shut really tight - because he's at that stage where he can't do anything naturally - and he started snoring. Chase thought this was the funniest thing ever and giggled uncontrollably. However, this was the one time that Chase decided it was best to stay far away from his brother, and far away from the crib. So Chase watched all the action unfold from across the room while sitting close to his bedroom door... you know, just in case it really was his naptime and he had to make a quick getaway!

Chase came down with the stomach bug that both Ben and I had last week. So he was pretty lethargic and wore out over the weekend. While Ben was vacuuming the house, Chase started to get really sleepy (mental note: vacuum more often in case there truly is a direct correlation here). So he decided to snuggle up on my lap and rest. Fortunately, Ben thought quickly and grabbed the camera to take a few pictures of this sweet moment since they happen so rarely. Obviously, this is my new favorite picture of the month.

And today, on Chase's 13-month birthday, he suffered his first little injury. Well, I say "little injury" now - three hours later - but it was a "big injury" at the time, because any type of injury just really tugs at a mommy's heart! While Chase and Braedyn were playing around, Chase got his pinky finger stuck in the bedroom door as it was closing. I know you're probably looking at that picture saying, "which finger, I don't see any injury", so I drew a nice little arrow to point out the purple pinky finger. The good news is that it didn't swell up, so after it changes a few more colors, hopefully his little finger will be all healed up and back to normal!

Chase looks so much bigger than the last time I saw him! And even more handsome.

And for the record, if I strap Spencer into his wrap and begin to vacuum...it puts hims to sleep. When I'm at wits end, I vacuum.
