When we switched to a new daycare, any progress in the potty training department went down the toilet - no pun intended. Truth be told, we hadn't made an enormous amount of progress anyway. But regardless, we have to start back at the beginning. At Braedyn's new school, they potty train the boys standing up as opposed to sitting down, which was the training method at the old daycare.
Two weeks ago, Braedyn's teacher told me to try to get Ben to take Braedyn to the bathroom with him so Braedyn could see what he was supposed to do. Since I previously only had Braedyn sit on the potty, he was pretty much clueless as to what he was supposed to do while standing up. So I came home and told Ben about the situation and what he needed to do to assist with this process. Ben's reply was, "okay, I can do that". I should've been leary of his quick response and lack of hesitation with this matter, but I just assumed this was a no-big-deal thing for men.
Fast forward 2 weeks later... apparently, Ben doesn't ever have to pee - EVER NEVER. He took Braedyn with him one time, I think the same day that he agreed to it, and ever since then, Ben has apparently developed the bladder of steel. Isn't it amazing what men are capable of doing when they put their minds to it?!? So please excuse me for 5 minutes while I go beat my husband....
Okay, I'm back... whew, that felt good to get out that frustration. And don't worry, Ben should make a full recovery from that butt-whooping he just received from his wife. =)~
To lighten the mood, here are a couple pictures from this weekend. Braedyn and Chase are playing more and more together, but it has to be on Braedyn's terms. And since Braedyn refuses to be interrupted when he's watching Thomas the Train, or playing with his choo-choo trains, or talking about trains, that only leaves a 20-minute window of opportunity each day for Chase to play with Braedyn. But when they do play together, I can't help but to smile from ear-to-ear. It's the Cutest. Thing. Ever.
As you can tell, Braedyn always has the upper hand, at least for now. Chase is growing so quickly, it's just a matter of time before he can hold his own with Braedyn.
And just one more funny picture... Ben and Braedyn were playing around and Braedyn must've hit his cheek against something. Although there were no visible signs of injury, he demanded a band-aid be placed on his boo boo, as he cried and kept pointing to his cheek. So I finally put the band-aid on his cheek, he immediately stopped crying, and I just couldn't resist taking a picture.
And yes, that line-up of trains is next to him no matter where he is - in his room, on the couch, or in the play room. Where Braedyn goes, his choo-choo trains will follow! But seriously, how funny is that band-aid that takes up half of his cheek. Hee!
Is anyone else excited about the beginning of the Fall tv season? I'm so desperate for some good television! I've already got my lineup figured out, and thankfully I have no dvr conflicts. What did we ever do before the dvr was created? I've decided to trade in 90210 for the next best thing... the new Melrose Place. What can I say, every chic needs their trashy tv series to keep them sane. Mostly though, I can't wait to watch some good reality tv shows again, like my precious Survivor and Amazing Race. I about threw myself over the edge with this season of Big Brother. What a disaster that show has become. It's amazing what we'll watch when there's nothing on tv! Speaking of, I have to go force myself to watch tonights Big Brother episode... unfortunately, I've got too much time invested in this crap to give up now.
