It's All About the Brand

After months and months of nagging, Ben finally agreed, reluctantly, to trade-in his non-family friendly pickup truck for a family sedan. I'm sure he thinks that I should devote a whole post to the memory of his first love, but this little paragraph is all he gets. All you need to know is: bye-bye Toyota Tacoma, hello Toyota Camry. (Remember honey, I Love You!!)

So anyway, with this new vehicle, we had to invest in a new car seat and stroller. I always do tons of research on baby products, and this was no exception. I quickly chose the trusted, well-priced Graco brand for the convertible car seat. On to the stroller... Oh My, what a huge variety of strollers there are available on the market. I quickly skimmed over the Britax and Peg Perego brands that are usually great products, but are insanely expensive, which is why I always said I would never buy those brands. I refer to these two brands as the "Country Club Mom Brands". You know, that elite group of moms that always have the top-of-the-line products, regardless of cost. Well, in all honesty, I don't know those moms either, but I've 'heard' of them, and that's good enough!

So, I continued to focus on the "Less than $100" list of strollers, and finally narrowed it down to two. One stroller I would've had to order online and pay way too much for shipping, so this was pretty much a deal breaker, so that left me with one. So, Ben and I headed to Target to check it out and test-drive it around the store.

We scanned the aisle of strollers looking for the one I had picked out. A few caught my eye immediately, but unfortunately, they weren't the well-priced stroller I had picked out. When we finally did find the stroller, I was a bit disappointed with the size and ease of opening/closing it up. I refused to settle for that one, knowing I'd never be happy with it. So, we kept looking, and I kept coming back to this one stroller that I really liked alot. I had Ben get it off the shelf so we could look closer at it and test drive it. It took less than 3 minutes for me to be completely convinced that this was the stroller meant for me, errr.... I mean Braedyn. I stepped back to get a better look at this wonderful piece of art - there it stood on the Target floor, as if it was on a stage of its own, it was none other than the insanely priced Britax stroller. And I was not leaving the store without it!!

We took Braedyn for a test-drive when we got home, and I swear, the Britax stroller is magical!! He was asleep in less than 5 minutes. Okay, so maybe it was 30 minutes past his naptime, but that's beside the point. So, there it is, my pride-and-joy, and I absolutely love this stroller. I've appointed myself as the newest member of the Country Club Mom group. And you know what, we really are just ordinary people like every one else! =)
