We're been working with Braedyn on learning how to sit up unsupported. The first couple times we tried it, I was skeptical that this goal would be accomplished before 9 months, it just seemed simply impossible. As soon as he'd sit up (if you can call it that), he'd topple over. You know, that really slow motion topple that you just can't help but to giggle at.
After the first several topples, I thought "hmm, it'd probably be a really good idea to surround this little tyke with lots of soft pillows". You know, some things make soooo much more sense after the fact. It's only been about 2 weeks since we started this, but he has come a long way, and gets so much stronger each day.
Of course, he still topples over, but only after he's been sitting up on his own for several minutes, rather than after a split-second.
The only problem now, is that since he discovered how soft and comfy the pillows are, it seems like he'd rather just lay down and be comfy than sit back up again... surely he must've learned that from Calvin & Hobbes - such lazy kitties they are.
