Braedyn has survived Week 1 of the Toddler Room at school. But most importantly, Mommy has survived!! You may think it's no big deal when a child goes from the nursery to the toddler room, but for all those BTDT mom's, you know how stressful it can be with all the worrying you do about your little baby.
Braedyn seems to be adapting well accordinging to his teachers. He is eating good and is adjusting to the one, long nap a day. Today we visited Grammy and he still maintained his nap schedule, which is a big relief. I mean, sure he woke up after an hour, but he easily went back to sleep with some coaxing by Grammy.
The only issue I can see so far is that most of the kids in the Toddler room (all but one are at least 2 months older than Braedyn) are capable of using a spoon. There was no transition period at school with learning to use utensils, so now we need to make a conscious effort to get Braedyn used to using a spoon. Don't get me wrong, he definitely knows that the spoon belongs in his mouth. But we need to spend a little bit of time focusing on how to keep the food on the spoon until it reaches his mouth. This little task might take some time. I'm pretty sure I'd have much more success with him mastering the fork first. I hear kids tend to have an easier time stabbing their food with the fork and then eating it.
But aside from that one little detail... I think he's enjoying the freedom he gets in the bigger toddler room at school. And I'm sure his favorite part of the school day is when they have outside playtime. He loves to be outdoors, and typically first thing in the morning, he takes mine or Ben's hand and literally leads us to the front door to let us know he wants to go outside. It's pretty funny... Little Boy definitely knows what he wants!!
Here's a picture of Braedyn and Daddy... right after Braedyn woke up from a nap. He's the biggest grump after he wakes up. He definitely gets that wonderful personality trait from me!! He keeps his little serious face on for at least 10 minutes after he wakes up. Such a cutie pie...

Sending girly vibes your way.....
He is just so cute and grown-up these days! I'm glad he is adjusting well to the toddler room :) I hope the gender result is whatever you are hoping for!
Wow is he growing. Just wait he will be counting and singing his abc before you know it. Then the sentences will come out and you will wonder where they came from. He is getting cuter and cuter. I am getting caught up on your news. Love reading your blog. Connie T.
