Easter and More *Fun*

I was just getting excited about the couple days of vacation I had accrued at work... just to have it all used up while I stayed home 3 days with my sick Little Boy last week. So I have finally come to accept that staying home with a sick child is the new meaning of vacation days for a mommy.

On top of suffering through a viral infection, Braedyn was playing outside at school last week on a very windy day, and something flew into his eye - which ultimately resulted in him getting a tiny scratch on his eye. After the second trip to the pediatrician in one week, we started to see some progress in Little Boy's suffering. But the fun didn't end there, because honestly, what week would be complete without your child somehow managing to dial 9-1-1-9-9 on the telephone, and then promptly hitting the "call" button?

After the police department called us back and Ben (unsuccessfully) explained that it was an accident, we still had a police officer show up at our door 10 minutes later - which by the way, if this was a true emergency, what's with the 10 minute turnaround time? I would've been handcuffed and gagged and halfway across the state by time the police showed up... seriously! So we showed Braedyn to the police officer, at which point Braedyn smiled and gave a little wave... apparently Braedyn was the only one that found the humor in this. So after all of this, my only question is: Exactly how many more weeks are left before I can indulge in a glass (or three) of wine?

On to Easter fun...

This is Ben showing Braedyn his easter basket from Grammy. At what point do kids actually get interested in what's inside the Easter basket, rather than the basket itself? Below, Braedyn is proudly strutting through the house with his basket, after he emptied everything out on the floor.

And this is Braedyn giving Daddy one of his very special kisses! Let's say it all together now - Awww, How Sweet!!!

Braedyn is fascinated with this stand alone waterfall on Grammy's lanai. He kept wanting to reach over to touch the water that was trickling down. And all I will say about this is, it's all fun and games until the Little Boy leans over too far, and dumps himself in the waterfall. Not that I'm openly admitting that's what happened, but let's just say it's a good thing I brought a spare set of dry clothes for Braedyn.

And now, it's a new week... which hopefully will not include any trips to the pediatrician's office, 911 calls, and ummm, waterfall incidents. Do you think that maybe I should start stockpiling the bottles of wine now?!

Braedyn will definately be ready for Easter next year. Don't forget to color eggs with him. It's so much fun. And I recommend hiding plastic eggs for the hunt. Jordan loves her Easter egg hunts. Love the appliances girl!

I so love how Braedyn is looking out of the corner of his eye at the camera while kissing Daddy's cheek! OMG, he is so adorable! I think the 911 thing is a right of passage lol. After 8 years, Jess and I are still coloring eggs together, so I definitely recommend it next year ;-) It's definitely become our easter "tradition". We do the cookie baking/decorating at Christmas, too. Of course, the 17yo lost interest in that stuff a long time ago. *sigh*
