First Surgery

Braedyn had his first surgery today - at the ripe age of 8 1/2 months. He had tubes put in his ears and had his adenoids taken out. Or as Ben has said on occasion, he had his Altoids taken out. The surgeries are to correct the chronic ear infections and congestion he has had the past couple months.

Both surgeries take only 15 minutes total, then he had to be in the recovery room for awhile so the nurses could watch over him. He was a trooper through it all, and his doctor said everything went smoothly from beginning to end. I think what his doctor was trying to say was that Braedyn was his best patient ever. I'm pretty sure that's what he was eluding to.

Braedyn is really exhausted now, and has been sleeping quite a bit thus far. This is him zonked out after we got home. His little hospital band was still attached to his foot. The little bunny rabbit was a present he received from the hospital before he left. I'm still trying to figure out why his rabbit has pink ribbons on it rather than blue ribbons, but I'll just attribute that to budget cuts at the hospital.

He woke up for one hour and ate and played a little bit, and now he is back to sleep again. He seems to be recovering well so far and isn't too fussy. We had to be in Orlando at Arnold Palmer at 6:00 am this morning, so this has been a long day for all of us. I can't wait until Braedyn fully recovers - I'm anxious to see him healthy for more than 3 days in a row. But what I'm really anxious for is to see how much our insurance company was billed for that bunny rabbit with pink ribbon. =)~
