Life with Two Under 2

Aside from Braedyn wanting me to pick him up more often and sit next to me (or on me) while I'm feeding Baby Chase, there aren't too many signs of jealousy over the new addition. And thank goodness for that. We taught Braedyn that he has to be gentle with Chase, just like he has to be when petting the kitty cats. So Braedyn *pets* and kisses Chase's head, and touches his nose while saying "nose". It's the cutest thing ever. Of course, Braedyn still doesn't understand how fragile Chase is, but I guess he'll understand that more within time... hopefully.

The picture below is Braedyn analyzing Baby Chase, probably trying to figure out what all the fuss is over... but more importantly, trying to figure out why Chase is sitting in Braedyn's bouncy seat. haha. And the next picture is Braedyn giving his little brother a kiss... so adorable!!

And this picture below is Braedyn absorbing up as much of Mommy's attention as he can get. The good news is that Braedyn wants me to hold him or sit with me so much more that I can get more pictures of the two of us. And although that's the result of some of his jealousy over Chase coming out, I'll gladly deal with it for a great photo opportunity!

So I'm happy to announce that I've finally discovered the true secret to weight loss, and that would be having two kids under the age of 2. I've already lost 2/3 of my pregnancy weight. I mean, sure most of that weight was the baby and excess water, but a pound lost is a pound lost! Now I've only got 10 lbs to go... well, that along with the 10 lbs I needed to lose prior to getting pregnant with Chase... but whatever, let's start with baby steps!

And yes, I've managed to have my much desired glass of wine every now and then. The only problem is that 1/2 a glass of wine usually sends me straight to bed. And this is drinking out of what I consider a *small* wine glass. You know, the wine glasses I would use for lightweight drinkers when they would visit! But seriously, I don't remember my wine ever tasting this good before. =)~

And my last thing... yesterday I got a call from Braedyn's preschool saying that he has ringworm on his leg. I asked "are you sure it's not a mosquito bite", because Braedyn had acquired a few bites on his leg while playing outside with Daddy. But nope, they were sure it was ringworm and I had to pick him up and take him to the pediatrician before he could go back to school. Now mind you, I didn't have the best night of sleep the night before and was on edge... in desperate need of a nap. So the first thing I did was think - Oh My Gosh, I am about to fall asleep, how am I going to do this today, of all days. Next thing I did - called my mom for backup reinforcement for the day. Fortunately, it was her day off work and she was able to come over all day and help out immensely by taking care of Baby Chase. Third thing I did - called pediatrician's office, couldn't get into the office close to me, had to drive 30 minutes to their other office, and they couldn't fit me in until 4:00 pm.

And just when I think things can't get any worse, Braedyn and I get to the pedi's office that afternoon, doctor looks at his leg, and gives the diagnoses that what is on his leg is nothing more than a mosquito bite that he scratched and is starting to scab over. Are you kidding me?!? No, seriously... are you kidding me?!? So we leave, I call Ben to give him the update, and already know what is going to come out of his mouth... "what do we have to do to get reimbursed for our daily daycare charge, doctor co-pay, and gas money". And honestly, I have to side with him this time. I mean... a friggin' mosquito bite???

I would have been livid at all that driving around for NOTHING. But I do think it is typical for daycares to want you to pick up kids for every little thing! You better stock up on some Off spray and hose Braedyn down!

Wait until Chase is big enough to boss Braedyn around....
