Sick and Tired

I'm so sick and tired of being sick and tired. Yup, Braedyn has managed to pass his illness on to me. I've been sick for about 5 days now, and now Ben is starting to get sick too. It's the absolute pits. I've been so run down that I haven't even had the energy to watch all my new fall shows. They're coming on faster than I can watch them, it's stressing me out!! In fact, my DVR has gone from 2% to 53% full. Wowzers!

Chase had his 2-month pediatrician appt last week. He's growing like a weed and is really starting to pack on the baby chub. He started to give me a few 6-7 hour stretches at night, but now he's regressed back to 4 hours. What the heck?!? Come on little man, you're moving in the wrong direction!! Chase is a swaddler baby, so he has always been swaddled when he sleeps. But now that he's getting bigger, I'd prefer to not swaddle his arms at night. He sleeps well with his arms out, he's always in that classic "touchdown" pose when he sleeps. But while he sleeps at night, sometimes he'll move around a little and the movement of his arms startles him and wakes him up. So hopefully he'll soon get used to not having his arms swaddled and start sleeping longer stretches. Because if not, I think I might break out the duct tape and strap those little wiggly arms to the mattress.

Braedyn's vocabulary is getting bigger and bigger everyday. The newest things he says and its toddler translation are: maw-mow (lawnmower), bra-ber (brother), ah-play (airplane), & es-cole (it's cold). And we've been teaching him to say his name, which he's now starting to pronunciate rather well. It's pretty neat to watch him learn new words. I'm still trying to teach him to say "love you", but that's not going so well - he still butchers that phrase pretty badly. He can also point out and say alot of his body parts (eyes, nose, mouth, ears, etc.). He also loves to go around pointing them out on other people. Here he is showing us where Chase's eyes are. I swear one day he's going to poke someone's eye out. You see, Braedyn can't just point at something, he has to physically touch it with his finger.

Here's two pictures of me and Chase. He's starting to smile and babble alot more now. It's the cutest thing. He's got a nice little grin in these two pics.

My sister took these pictures of us, and she'll probably have to take our family pictures from now on instead of us getting them done professionally. Because after the stock market plummeted today, Ben promptly informed me that I'm on a "no spending" limit. It's always comical when he says that to me, because it's usually right before or after I make a big purchase. Like when he called me today and told me that, it was right after I spent $100 at the grocery store and $280 for my yearly contacts. Of course, anytime the words "budget" or "no spending" come out of Ben's mouth, that's the moment I choose to turn on the selective hearing. So when Ben says "you are on a budget, don't spend money now"... the only words I really hear are "you spend money now". Selective hearing is such a beautiful thing when I can use it to my advantage!

Sadly enough, it's 9:00 pm and I'm totally exhausted. Need. Sleep. Now. So as Braedyn would say "Nigh Nigh". For those of you that don't have kids, that's "night night" in case you couldn't figure it out. =)~

Wow, Chase is sooo big!! They grow up way too fast. And Katie does the exact same thing, you tell her to point to her eyes and she practically jabs it out. Funny.

And that is so funny... I have selective hearing when it comes to my hubby telling not to spend money, too!
