While most people are counting down the days until Christmas, I'm actually counting down the days until my maternity leave is over. Only 19 more days until I go back to the 8-5 workday, and I'm freaking out because I can't believe my play days are almost gone. Thanks to my wonderful husband, we worked things out so that I was able to have nearly 6 months of maternity leave. And I remember months ago thinking, "I still have 4 months left, that's like a lifetime away." And now there's just a measly 2 1/2 weeks left. ::sigh::
I think the thing that has me the most panicked is my To Do List that is still unfinished. I've got pictures to order, baby albums to finish, doctor appointments to be scheduled... but most importantly, I'm wondering how the hell I'm going to lose these nagging 10 pounds in less than 3 weeks. Do I crash diet? Do I starve myself? Do I act like a rabbit and eat nothing but lettuce? Or do I just say "to hell with it all, it's the friggin' holidays, and I'm gonna eat!" (I'm pretty sure you already know which of those options I am choosing.)
In case you didn't notice, I permanently removed "Get Chase Sleeping Through the Night" from my To Do List. I mean, why aim for the impossible, right? haha. Truth-be-told, I actually had Chase on a great sleep schedule not too long ago. He was sleeping from 7:00pm - 5:00am before needing to be fed. He would occassionally wake up, but would go back to sleep with little work from Ben or I. And then after a few short days of that schedule, he got sick, and it was back to square one. He's still heavily congested at night and has had an enormous amount of trouble sleeping this past week. So after it being suggested a few times from his pediatrician, I finally bought a humidifier for his room yesterday. And thankfully, he had a much better night last night, sleeping from 7:00pm - 4:00am before hollering for food, then back to sleep from 5:00-7:00. So technically, many people would consider this sleeping through the night. But I'm a *slight* perfectionist, and refrain from using that term until I get a solid straight week of 10-12 hours of sleep. I always thought humidifiers and purifiers were gimmicks, but after researching a bit, I'm hoping that it will help with his congestion and dry skin issues. At this point, I have no choice but to hold out hope... so 'tis the season for a Christmas Miracle!!
And now, here are some pictures of my adorable little boys. These pictures are of Braedyn and Chase "playing" this past weekend. I use the term "playing" very loosely, because what's really happening here is Chase is on the floor doing tummy time, and Braedyn is rolling around him, rolling on him, crawling over him, and doing everything in his power to try to get Chase to play with him.

I can't help but laugh at those pictures! Chase really is just chilling and you can tell Braedyn is trying hard to get him to play! Too damn cute!!
Awww... cute pics!
Enjoy the time you have left... I remember those feelings when I went back to work after my two. When I had my 1st girl I was able to take off 4 months. But I had just started a new job when I had my 2nd... and the most I could take off was 6 weeks!
