Braedyn's 2nd Birthday Bash

We celebrated Braedyn's 2nd birthday yesterday... and sheez, I can't believe it's been 2 whole years since our Little Boy was born!! Technically, he doesn't turn 2 until December 21st, but I like to separate his birthday from the holidays so he doesn't get shafted. From repeatedly watching an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba (emphasis on the word "repeatedly"), Braedyn knew what birthday party, balloons and birthday cake were. And Ben and I have been telling him all week that it's Braedyn's Birthday, so needless to say, he was very excited when he woke up from his nap and saw everything decorated for his birthday party. He was saying "Bwa-en Birf-day" (Braedyn's Birthday), and when I asked "how old is Braedyn", he answered with "Twooooo". Sure he would hold up only one finger when saying "two", but whatever, hardly anybody noticed that. =)

Before I forget, I must thank my wonderful friend, Joy, for being my designated camera chic. Without her, I wouldn't have had a whopping 275 glorious pictures to choose from. Lucky for you, I filtered through all those pictures, then picked a few favorites (a few meaning 11 pictures, haha) to share with you.

The Backyardigans Cake (created by Publix, our local grocery store)

A snapshot of me, Chase and the life-size Pablo the Penguin balloon.

Braedyn loved his penguin balloon, here he is with Grammy Judi as he's trying to hug the balloon.

What a difference a year makes... at his 1st Birthday party, Braedyn wanted nothing to do with his cake. He even cried when some frosting got on his hands! But this year, as soon as he saw his cake, he couldn't leave its side. He must've stood on this chair for 10 minutes as he kept dipping his finger in the frosting and eating it. At one point, he started to use a spoon to eat the frosting with. And for all you germaphobes (this one's for you, Tina), you should know that when we cut the cake slices, we cut from the complete opposite corner of the cake. haha =)~

Here are a few pictures of some of the birthday loot that Braedyn received from our very generous friends and family.

Here's the greatest picture of them all... the picture of the birthday boy, Mommy & Daddy. Here we all are looking in three different directions. Nice, huh?

Braedyn hanging out with his little brother, and his new Little Einstein Rocket ship that doesn't leave his side!

And here he is having some last minute fun before bedtime with his new Elmo Live. Even I must admit, this Elmo is pretty friggin' cute and funny!

Once again, thank you to all our wonderful friends and family that came over to celebrate Braedyn's 2nd birthday. We appreciate it and it really means alot that you were here with us. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go be sad about my Little Big Boy turning 2 years old already! ::sniff sniff::

Sounds like it was a great party! We like The Backyardigans, too... well, we did when my girls were a bit younger.

Glad your little guy had a fun party!
