Christmas Day 2008

Our Christmas morning started with Ben and I getting up extra early to make sure we were showered, dressed and ready before Braedyn woke up. Obviously, it was a given that Chase would've been up 3 or 4 times since going to sleep the night before... and of course, he was right on cue (I have no idea what happened to those glorious 11 hour stretches of sleep). Also, Braedyn has been waking up really early this past week (surely that's compliments of Chase), so we were thinking he'd do the same Christmas morning. So Ben, Chase and I are waiting and waiting and waiting some more for Braedyn to wake up. But apparently he decided this was the day he was going to sleep in... go figure.

After finally waking up, I went in his room to get him and told him that Santa had come last night and left presents for him. He exclaims, "Bray-en Birf-day". You see, ever since his birthday party, anytime he sees balloons, his Backyardigans birthday plate, or presents, he thinks it's his birthday. The poor kid... he's so confused at this point. =)~ So we went out to the living room and I pointed towards the Christmas tree. The first thing he saw was his shiny, red tricycle and immediately went straight to it.

He knocked the little stuffed animal off the seat, hopped on, and pushed with his little feet as he sped around the house. It really was such a cute moment!

Braedyn giving Daddy a kiss to show how happy he is about his new bike.

Braedyn oohing and aahing over his new hot wheels...

... and loving his new race track to go with his hot wheels.

Me and Chase... this is the extent of Chase's excitement for the day. He was pretty much oblivious to the Christmas festivities.

Braedyn getting excited about another present he received. I do have to say, I was under the impression that Braedyn would open one present after another. Well, after opening 2 presents, he decided it was time for a break so he could eat some yogurt. Then he'd open one more present before taking another break. I'm not kidding you when I say that it was just shortly before his naptime at noon when he finally finished opening his presents - and that was only because I finally opened the last two presents for him. Sheez... it was exhausting trying to get this kid to open a present!

Braedyn playing with his new golf club set. And I define playing as follows: after we took it out of the box, he put everything he could find into the golf bag, then dumped everything out, then put everything back in, then dumped everything out. This entertained him for a solid 30-45 minutes.

Braedyn showing Chase his new bike.
Sidenote: I searched for the longest time trying to find matching outfits for the boys to wear on Christmas Day, because I thought it would look cute for pictures if they were dressed alike. Sadly enough, this is the only picture I was able to get of the two of them together.

And this is my favorite picture of Braedyn from today. He's riding his bike outside, and saying "Go Go Go". It was your typical Christmas Day in Florida... a sunny 80 degrees. So it was beautiful weather to be outdoors.

Overall, it was a very fun day with the boys. Next year will be even more fun once Chase has some clue as to what is going on. For now, Braedyn just hijacks all of Chase's gifts and plays with them. I'm sure next year there will be a few tug-o-war matches over some toys!

Too cute!! I have a feeling there will be a Radio Flyer tricycle in my future too! I love how Braedyn looks like he just woke up as he runs to the bike...that's priceless!

And what are you feeding Chase? He looks so darn big!

These pics are so cute and I love seeing the ones of Braedyn on the little trike. He looks like he is having lots of fun. Was laughing about him and opening the presents. Montana was the complete opposite. He kept opening the presents non-stop barely even looking to see what the gift was. He finally took an inventory and inspection of everything when all was opened, lol.
