Yup, I have to admit it, I completely fell off the wagon this week. I fell so hard, that I still have the bruises to show for it! Approximately 24 hours after my last blog post (you know, the one where I bragged about how well I was doing on Weight Watchers), I somehow got completely off track.
It all started on Tuesday... Ben and I had tickets to see David Copperfield, so we went to the Outback for dinner before the show. And here's the thing, Ben and I rarely get a chance to go out to dinner sans kids. So I'll be damned if I'm going to order something healthy on this very rare occassion. I already knew 2 weeks in advance (sad, I know) that I was ordering the ultra-fattening fettuccine pasta with chicken & shrimp. And my-oh-my, that was the most delicious thing I've tasted in months! So needless to say, it was difficult to get back on the diet track after getting a taste of the good stuff.
And then, at 1:00 am Friday morning, I hear Chase wailing from his crib. After I go check on him, I realize that he is running a fever of 100.2. So I give him some Tylenol, and within two hours, his fever has jumped to 103 degrees. Umm, call me crazy, but isn't Tylenol supposed to bring down the fever? (Mental Note Made to Self: Buy some Motrin as soon as possible, this Tylenol stuff is crap.) So to make a long story short, I manage to get a whopping 30 minutes of sleep after 1:00am, and it ends up that Chase has an ear infection. But not just any ole' ear infection, this one is so bad that he isn't able to eat much, because when he tries to drink from the bottle, the sucking motion is very painful for him. Ben stayed home with Chase on Friday, and I was sad that I wasn't able to be there with Little Chasey while he was feeling this horrible. So what did I do to feel better... I went to lunch at TGIFridays with my co-workers and had myself a greasy hamburger and french fries for lunch. (But surely you can sympathize with me on this one!) So my goal right now is to eat everything in sight before I start WW again on Monday, and so far, everything is going according to plan. So as you can see, when I fall off the wagon, I fall way off.
And by the way, I absolutely loved the David Copperfield show. I was never very interested in watching his stuff on tv, but to see it live was simply amazing. I told Ben I wouldn't mind seeing him again. Ben said he would consider it when we have our next date night 6 months from now. I know what you're thinking... two whole date nights in one year, wow, I am one lucky chic!!

I peeked in on Braedyn during his nap today and saw this...
Can you see what is next to his football? You know your kid is overly addicted to The Backyardigans when he starts to bring the dvd to bed with him. This can't be a good situation!
