Ode to the Papasan Swing

You are truly the greatest gift
That new parents could receive
You were our pride and joy
And worth all 150 'D' batteries.

When Braedyn was inconsolable
We would put him in the swing
He would immediately calm down
It was the most amazing thing.

He would lay there and smile
Or sleep peacefully for hours
It was then that we realized
You had super magical powers.

As Braedyn started to grow
He put on pound after pound
His feet hung over the edge
And this really made us frown.

Now the time has come
To finally pack you away
We will miss you dearly
And wish that you could stay.

That is just TOOOOOO funny! But, it is sooo true! I kept my swing put together until Mackenna was about 10 months old. Although, she never really wanted in it past 6 months old. I was in denial and hoping we could keep it longer.

I could not have put it more perfectly myself nor could you have had more perfect timing. After 12 months of consistent use by Noah and 4 dutiful months of use by Hunter our motor housing just died last week. And of course, it is on back order (heads up). So, we bought the new rainforest style papasan- not the same exactly BUT it uses batteries AND plugs in.

Rest in peace papasan Wormeck.
