Holy Sickness, Batman!!

Okay, so I knew that life with multiple kids meant multiple germs. And when one child was sick, everyone gets sick. But hell, since when did the germs start making back-to-back rounds through the family. My poor little Braedyn is sick... once again. And seeing how he loves to kiss Chase all over the face - with an open mouth - I'm pretty sure that Chase's little cough is the beginning of his second sickness. Is this ever going to end?!?

So Braedyn got to stay home with Mommy and Chase today. And he'll probably be staying home tomorrow as well. Why? Because keeping Braedyn in preschool while I'm on maternity leave for the sake of not losing our place (and Chase's future spot) at his beloved school is quickly overshadowed by guilt when he says "no skool" in the middle of feeding him breakfast. ::sigh::

The good news is, now that Chase is getting a little bigger, it's much easier to handle them both at the same time. I can put Chase down on the ground and play with both kids at the same time. And likewise, Braedyn gets to "play" with his little brother as well. Here he is playing with Chase today... somehow I get the feeling that Braedyn enjoyed this a *tad bit more* than Chase did. =)~

Braedyn has a few bumps and scrapes on his body because, well... because he's a boy. So every now and then, we decorate them with band-aids. I find it so very amusing that when a child has a band-aid on, that entire body part becomes unusable. We put a band-aid on his right hand because he had a scrape from falling down outside. When the band-aid is on, Braedyn holds his hand out to the side and appears to be incapable of moving it. What is that about?!?

And at the end of the day, Braedyn decided that he needed to rearrange his play room for easier accessibility to his toys. This is the end result...

So after all this, I have to ask you... does this really look like a sick child to you? Yeah... I didn't think so! I've been scammed again!

Yesterday was the first day in forever that it *allegedly* stayed below 80 degrees. In honor of this monumental event, we took Braedyn to Sea World. Apparently there is an ongoing Halloween event where the kids can dress up in their Halloween costume and trick-or-treat throughout the park. I wasn't aware of this because, well... because I'm just that kind of mom who doesn't follow up on all that crap. So midway through the day, we decided to join in on the festivities and rack up as much free candy as we could.

Braedyn isn't much of a candy person simply because we just don't give it to him. But we did give him a lollipop from his (read as: mine and Ben's) Halloween candy bag, and he Absolutely. Loved. It. Before we knew it, he was rifling through the bag for more lollipops. In total, he devoured 3 small lollipops and drooled more than his little brother who his currently teething. And the end result? Well, that would be 2 hours of Braedyn jacked up on a sugar high....

So lesson learned... on Halloween night, Braedyn eats NO candy until next day (assuming it's a school day)!!

Sorry to hear the boys are sick... hope they're feeling better.

And my 5 yr old still uses the "I can't, I have a boo-boo" excuse when its convenient for her!
