We bought him some Biter Biscuits... a more appropriate name for them would be Chew & Slobber Biscuits. Because let's face it, that's pretty much all babies know how to do. As soon as I showed him the biscuit, he immediately opened his mouth for me to feed him. (Apparently, he's had enough of these at school to recognize them by sight.) But we resisted the urge of sticking it in his mouth, and instead we made him grab it and feed himself. Ben and I were quite impressed with his coordination, as illustrated below.

This last picture is pretty funny. He basically ran out of room for his hands. So he's trying to chew on the biscuit with just his mouth. Needless to say, that didn't work out to well. And when the biscuit fell out of his mouth, he scooped it up with his little hands, and shoved it all back in his mouth. He obviously hasn't been in tune enough with his choking and gagging reflexes to realize it doesn't work quite that easily! So Ben (after a slight panic) had to go pull the biscuit out of his mouth to save our Little Tyke from any harm. Braedyn's Daddy.... the Hero!

I think the shove-it-in-the-mouth and parent-pulls-it-out-before-child-chokes manuever is a regular part of the biter biscuits. They should put directions on the box.
How cute! I remember those things. Jordan used to love them. However, as you now know they are terribly messy. Your little tyke is becoming quite the little man.
